SAVE DUKES OF HAZZARD: WARNER BROS. EXECUTIVE ANNOUNCES THE DISCONTINUATION OF DVDS AND OTHER MERCHANDISE, SOURCES SAY

I, like many of you, have been SCRAMBLING ever since it was announced our beloved Dukes of Hazzard would be pulled from TV stations a few weeks ago, only to find out that you can't get the DVDs ANYWHERE.  Amazon and eBay sold out weeks ago, EVERYTHING ELSE that remains is a cheap bootleg from China.  NOW, a source in Warner says the DVD box sets are going to become much, MUCH harder to come by without shelling out a fortune, stating that there is something they're not telling us about the lack of box sets in stock:
They don't plan on restocking.  In light of the Charleston controversy, Warner Bros. will discontinue production and sale of the Dukes of Hazzard series.
The company follows in the footsteps of retailers Amazon, Sears, eBay, and Walmart, all of whom elected to ban sales . . .
There they are...the last ones...
Amazon and eBay have already tapped into the reservoir of overseas distributors.  GENUINE COPIES ARE ALL GONE. The rest of the market is now flooded with Chinese knock-offs that are either out-of-sync in picture and sound, foreign language with or without subtitles, or different or blank DVDs with a Dukes of Hazzard sticker printed on.  Because of the obvious legality issues involved with counterfeiting, U.S. Customs by now is likely on alert for these fakes.  Not only that, overseas dealers are not held liable at all for counterfeit imports, which dumps all culpability on the buyer on U.S. soil!  The genuine copies left are now collector's items to some, and I'm sure they'll plan to charge thousands once this story leaks.

I can't end this story on doom and gloom.  There is a ray of hope!   There's still a pretty considerable amount to go around--a few hundred copies, I'd say.  But that's IT!
